also would have to be brought in. If, therefore,

serious consideration is to be given to development

on these lines, we feel that the first and obvious

step is to obtain a definite expression of your views

and those of Sloss. Masson told us confidentially

that he understood Sloss was already moving in the

matter and that you had, or were about to appoint a :

local committee to make recommendations.

therefore let me know how the matter stands and whether

we are likely to be hearing something from you

officially in the matter and,

if so how soon?

I believe Sloss is himself coming home on

leave this summer in which case his presence would, no doubt, be invaluable for any discussions we may have

to have with departments over here. If, however, you

are in any case going to send us something in the near future, we should be glad to know this as no doubt the

presence of Morse and Masson would be very ueriu, ir

any further discussions we may have here!
